Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion Acne Treatments - Harsh or Helpful?
by: Peter Crump

Many people think of microdermabrasion acne treatments as those supplied in salons by professional skincare specialists, but there are actually a multitude of microdermabrasion acne treatments available on your drugstore shelves. Many of the well-known and highly effective acne control products available today include beads or crystals that offer a microdermabrasion effect.

But many acne sufferers have been warned off using harsh products on their skin, as these can simply exacerbate the condition rather than helping to control it. Microdermabrasion acne treatments work by scraping away impurities and dead skin cells - surely this is not a treatment suitable for daily use? Won’t this aggravate my skin, leaving it raw and sore?

Older products might in fact have had this effect upon the skin. Usually exfoliants were recommended as a once or twice a week treatment. But advances in skincare have produced a wide variety of microdermabrasion acne treatments that combine an exfoliating effect with mild and soothing cleansers, which in combination can clear the skin of debris without aggravating sensitive skin.

In fact, using a mild exfoliant, such as those used in microdermabrasion acne treatments, is one of the most effective weapons in acne control. The daily use of these microdermabrasion acne treatments clears the skin of impurities, leaving it refreshed and revitalised, allowing blemishes to heal and preventing new ones from forming. The beads or crystal are complimented by other ingredients, such as salicylic acid, which are established tools in acne control. The combination of two powerful cleansing substances doubles your power in the fight against acne.

While this type of dermabrasion acne treatment might not be suitable for those with extremely sensitive skin, these products contain soothing ingredients that make them suitable for daily use in acne control. Home dermabrasion treatments are usually offered with toners and other products, and it is important to use all of these in combination, as the ingredients in each balance the effects of the other.

These skincare packages offer a complete routine for your skin that can make a real difference to your acne. Try a microdermabrasion acne treatment, and see what its gentle power can do for you.

Microdermabrasion acne treatments may be simpler than you thought.

Cosmetic Surgery

Popular Cosmetic Surgery
by: Melissa Strauss

Cosmetic surgery used to have a stigma attached to it, but not any more. Everyone from teenagers, to middle age men to elderly women are having various surgeries done. These are the most popular surgeries:

Nearly three million people having Botox makes it the worlds most popular surgery. Botox is done by injection and is used to remove wrinkles, crow’s feet around the eyes or banding around the neck.

Laser hair removal comes in at second place with nearly a million and half people opting for this, and why not, as it can be real pain constantly having to hide or remove unwanted hair. The upper lip on women is often a common area to have this.

Next with over a million people having this non surgical procedure is the Chemical Peel. This helps exfoliate your top layer of skin leaving a fresh layer of skin which gives a younger fresher appearance.

Microdermabrasion also has about one million choosing this, like the chemical peel it is also a skin freshening technique, using a very fine sort of sand blaster to abrasively remove the top layer of dead skin. Often more than one treatment is needed to get the full effect

Liposuction is the most popular surgical operation choice (all the ones mentioned so far are non surgical). This involves using special equipment whereby a rod is inserted under the skin and literally sucks fat out of the patient. Commonly people choose to have liposuction their thighs, belly or bums - these are usually the problem areas.

Next is breast augmentation with a third of a million women wanting bigger breasts. This is becoming more and more common as women taking care of their figures and reducing body fat levels means their breast size is smaller.

And finally we have eye lid surgery. Again nearly third of million people had this surgery. T hroughout life eye bags and skin around the eyes begins to sag. This can make a person look very old. By having this surgery you can knock years of your appearance in age

Acne

Effective Treatment Options Available for Moderate to Severe Acne
by: Jill Dow

Suffering from even a minor acne flair up can wreck your week, but suffering from continual moderate to serious acne can ruin your self esteem. There are options that can help you if you have moderate to severe acne.

One of the most common treatments for acne is a topical cream. The primary ingredient in many acne creams is benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl Peroxide helps acne by killing acne bacteria and by reducing oil production of the skin. You’ll find benzoyl peroxide products available in creams, gels, and cleaning pads. There are also other topical acne applications with different active ingredients. You’ll find sulfur, salicylic acid, and resorcinol products. These are all available as over the counter treatments at your local drugstore.

Other more potent topical acne treatments are available by prescription. These are generally antibiotic based. T hey help stop acne by keeping the pores open and uninfected.

Sometimes a topical treatment alone cannot do the job and your dermatologist may recommend an oral antibiotic as well as a topical treatment.

While there is no known cure for acne, there are a number of acne treatments and treatment combinations available today to help you keep your acne under control. In some cases acne prevention and treatment will be a life-long endeavor, for others it’s a problem only during the teenage and young adult years. Regardless of the severity or duration of your acne problem a trip to the dermatologist for proper diagnosis based on your skin type and circumstances is highly recommended. Your doctor will work with you to come up with the best acne prevention plan for you.
